Based on the box-style canoe portage packs favored by northwoods timber cruisers, this pack works well whenever crush-resistance is desirable: use it for your food pack, but it'll work for anything that needs solid protection. Flap-covered side pockets are provided for your spotting scope, water bottle, backgammon game or lunch while the rest of your kit keeps well protected in the main compartment.
