Frost River - Cliff Jacobson Signature Portage Pack

When Cliff Jacobson suggested that we offer a larger more versatile version of our popular Nessmuk Pack for canoeing, we couldn’t resist. This new portage pack is two inches taller than the Nessmuk I and boasts 15 percent more volume at 1,386 cubic inches. Short closing flaps are one of Cliff’s pet peeves so we made this one extra long so things piled high will be covered. Each long side pocket will accommodate two one liter fuel or water bottles side-by-side. There’s a full-length hidden pocket behind each side pocket. Two pockets are sewn to the pack face—a 14 inch square one outside (it’s protected by the pack flap) and a 10” x 11” zippered one inside. The haul strap has been relocated to the yoke for a more neutral carry. Our signature waxed cotton fabric is used throughout. Says Cliff: “I love this new pack. It holds a lot, it sits upright in my canoe and on the ground and it looks and smells like it belongs in the woods.”
